Hilda Uziyel

Hilda was born in Istanbul in 1952 into a Sephardic family. She is a  graduate of Istanbul University, French Philology, and a mother of two children.

Whilst her passion for art, since her early age, was limited to visiting events and attending   various   art   courses and workshops. She now has a new dimension with sculpting for the past 15 years.

Hilda, who enjoys walking in this magical path, enriches her world by living with art and exiles herself from the outside world to express her devotion. In addition to her interest in art; reading books, watching movies and discovering new places plays a key role for her personal development. Her friends and family enrich her life experience.

She continues to be involved as a volunteer and artist in various associations and projects that are long-lasting, along with a short business life experience. Between 2012 and 2017 she exposed her sculptures in Istanbul and Bodrum. In 2018, she participated in “1492: Göke” Exhibition organised by Yunus Emre Institute in London at La Galleria Pall Mall.

Hilda Uziyel, who has participated in the workshops of Seta Hidiş, Tuba İnal, İrfan Korkmazlar, Rozi Maçoro, Yunus Tonkuş and Ayşin İşeri, constantly continues to develop her passion by moulding clay and create an art form.

Hilda challenges different ideas and creates an illusion of originality in her artworks exploring through the paintings emotional issues alongside universal appeal. Hilda’s sculptures reflect life itself and her figures are always invested with vibrant interest and energy.
